Riverside Palace
The Riverside Palace was built in 1875 AD by Maharaja Bhagwat Sinhji for his son Yuvraj Bhojraji. The riverside palace is located at the edge of the Gondali River; built in colonial style of architecture, amidst a garden with huge trees. It has huge high-ceilinged rooms with period furniture, marvelously appointed sitting arrangements, and a view of the river from the rooftop.
The living room is decorated in European taste, while the Indian room has brass-ware, bead-work and paintings in typical Indian style.
Orchard Palace
The Orchard Palace in the Huzoor Palace estate of the Maharaja of Gondal was the guest anex of the main palace. Orchard Palace is located in a huge complex of fruit orchards, lawns and gardens. The ‘room of miniatures’ is a splendid sitting room with a collection of miniature paintings, brass and antique furniture.
Shri Bhuvaneshwari Aushadhashram Ayurvedic Pharmacy
Another interesting place to visit is an Ayurvedic Pharmacy where the practice of indigenous ancient Indian medicine–Ayurveda, still continues using ancient treatises. This is the Shri Bhuvaneshwari Aushadhashram Ayurvedic Pharmacy. This Pharmacy dates back to 1910 when it was founded by the Royal Physician. This pharmacy still manufactures medicines as per ancient texts. You can see all the machinery involved.
Royal Garages
The Royal Garages have an extensive collection of vintage and classic cars from 1910 to 1955, limousine and sports cars from 1950 and 1960, American cars from 1940 and 1950, and a fleet of four-wheel drive vehicles from the World War II and post-war period. Most of these cars are restored and some bear the original Gondal State number plates.
